A Message from the Viceroy
In my capacity as Viceroy of Standards and Conduct, I serve as the primary representative of Galactic City Costume Club. My duty and responsibility to Galactic City is the protection of our members and the organization in whole. I want to express my dedication and persistence in maintaining my responsibilities to each member of Galactic City and will continue to serve in my best abilities.
Our founder worked through Lucasfilm Limited when we formed Galactic City. Galactic City proudly operates within Lucasfilm Limited guidelines. Adherence to these guidelines is reflected in our policies. We have emphasized our respect for these guidelines publicly on our website and on social media and we will maintain adherence to the guidelines in place by Lucasfilm.
Our members expressed an overwhelming interest in committing to these guidelines in both their Galactic City activities and in their activities outside of the organization. Our members began the year 2020 with this “pledge” in place as a condition of their Galactic City membership, and I and the founder commend each and every one of them for this pledge. I would also like to thank each and every one of them for this commitment to Galactic City and for making this organization one to be proud to belong to, setting an example for other organizations and members of those organizations as a standard and principle to follow and emulate.
In our view, “this is the way.”
I would again like to take a moment to thank the volunteers who have come together to be part of Galactic City. Your generosity and caring in this endeavor is greatly appreciated. I am also very thankful to our Privy Council and our Council of Regalia for your support and professionalism. The many years of costume organization experience and wealth of knowledge you all bring is highly respected and valued.
I applaud all of our members for bringing joy to people and uplifting them during difficult times, for the hospital visits and community appearances. You have come together to represent Galactic City in the spirit of friendship, fandom and fun and you have my gratitude. I thank each one of you for helping us to build Galactic City.
