About Us
We’re founded on friendship, fandom and fun. Comprised of and operated by volunteer fans, we bring Star Wars magic to community events and charitable endeavors. We are proud to be one of the Star Wars costuming organizations recognized by Lucasfilm Ltd., and we operate within their guidelines and with respect to our cooperative brother and sister costume clubs. We never charge for our appearances and we do not collect donation moneys directly.
We do things a little different in the city. Rich in Star Wars history, Galactic City is a tribute to the planet Coruscant. Beings and droids from all over the galaxy end up there for government matters, trade transfers, training and entertainment. It is in that spirit that we bring characters from both sides of the Force together in one club, along with Mandalorians, droid handlers and custom characters (with an approved plan.)
We’re movie-quality, screen-accurate and family-friendly in the city, and have detailed costume requirements. We offer equal membership to costumers and Event Ambassadors alike. We have no minimum activity requirements. Also, a Galactic City membership stays with the person, not the costume, which allows members to remain a part of the city if they have a costume in-progress or are in-between costumes. Costumes already accepted within other quality Star Wars costume clubs are likely eligible for immediate membership. Please note that as we are still growing, we may periodically place a freeze on new memberships as we adjust to organizational duties.
This is a collaborative volunteer effort with reward beyond measure. It is our hope to bring even just one smile to a child, joy to a family, fun to a fan.
May the Force be with you!
